ORGANIC TEMPERATURE FACADE
ACTIVE DESIGN STRATEGIES I | DEC - JAN 2020
This bio-adaptive facade uses live micro algae to grow in glass facade to reduce unwanted heat gain at the same time to generate renewable energy to the building.
Reactive algae facade helps to absorb heat from the sun during photosynthesis in exchange to cool the building, while hot sunny weather encourages the algae to grow rapidly to provide sufficient shade for the user.
ADAPTIVE SOLAR FACADE
ACTIVE DESIGN STRATEGIES II | DEC - JAN 2020
With intention to counter the inability of static building facade adapting to human needs, adaptive solar facade is design in response to reduce insufficient heat gain.
The system is built and design to interplay with building technologies such as lighting, heating, and ventilation, in a simplistic and clear-cut mechanism.
